seeing purple...

I'm not usually one for the Monochromatic look... I have a hard time (especially on SB pages) not reaching for more colors... at least an accent color here, or a pop of color there.... So, I decided that since I challenged the CIDT to go Monochrome, I should do it too.

After finishing this project, I felt like all I could see was PURPLE... my workspace, my tools, even my hands! EEK! =)
Paper: Coredinations, white cardstock, unknown patterned paper
Ink: Archival, Distress, Powder Puff, Memento, Stazon, Mark-it
Stamps: Inkadinkado "Letter", "Sketchy Flourishes"; Fancy Pants "In My Words", "Fresh Mod"
Die Cuts: Cricut "Graphically Speaking", "Cindyloo"
Creative Inspirations Paint: Ivory, Winter Frost, Light Purple
Other: rhinestones, ribbon, buttons, Prima flowers, Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents

here is the journalling tag. It is cut from white cardstock using "Graphically Speaking". I love this journaling corner stamp by Fancy Pants! I stamped it on the top, then flipped it over and stamped on the bottom. I then used Distress ink to make it purple...

This is a sheer cream ribbon that I painted with a mix of Winter Frost CI paint and Dusty Concord Distress reinker. (For more on how to do that, click here.)

Remember this technique I taught over at the CI blog? I decided to use it again. The Ivory on the dark paper shows up really well in some lights, and not as well in others. That's ok, because I stamped a flourish pattern in the same area (with out the vinyl mask) so you can see that pattern when the CI paint isn't catching the light.

Using Stazon, I stamped directly onto the photograph. I also dragged the ink pad across the edges of the photo. This has an artsy brushed look, and I love it.=)

The flowers were painted with a several colors of CI paints so I have dark, medium, and light flowers. Most of the buttons were also painted. (Like that cracked button look? So do I! I'll have a tutorial put together on that soon!)

Ok, now do YOU feel like you are seeing purple? LOL!

Have a fantastic day!
