Pickery, pumpkins, and pencils

Hello my wonderful friends!
It's time for another Unity hop!
(and sale!)

But first, I want you to meet Pickery Pockets...
Don't let his adorable little face fool you, he's a thief!

I have a squirrel feeder just outside my studio door. I love watching all the little critters.. The funny thing is, the last time we refilled that feeder, we found an ink pad... brand new, still in shrink plastic, cat eye ink pad. I have no idea where it came from. It isn't mine. I haven't bought that kind of ink in ages.. before I moved here. So, somewhere, someone is missing a yellow ink pad that Pickery stole and stashed. LOL!

ANYWAY...

For this card, I used watercolor crayons to stamp the image. The blue paper is a technique I love but haven't actually used in a while. I started by running kraft paper through an embossing folder. I then tinted some gesso with Distress reinker. I then spritzed it with water... even though the ink is mixed into the gesso, it still reacts to water giving that classic splatter look. I then sanded it to highlight the texture. You can find a step-by-step tutorial HERE.

For this card I decided to go with the colors from the new Unity Challenge... I love this color combo, and isn't that little girl ADORABLE???

For this card, I decided to dig out my watercolor pencils. Last week over at our FB chat, a couple people asked for techniques to do with watercolor pencils...

welcome to Tuesday!

Hello my wonderful friends!

So.. we're kinda shakin' things up here at Unity...

Welcome to our TUESDAY night hop!

There are a TON of NEW releases this week! (like seriously, T.O.N.S.)

Because my life has been a tad on the crazy side lately, I had time to play with a few....

 (In My Garden)

This new set from Susan K Weckesser is adorable. I love the simplicity, and elegance... So many flowers, leaves, and accents to mix and match in COUNTLESS ways! It could easily be used on cards, mixed media, and scrapbook pages. I LOVE stamp sets like that!!!

This sweet witch is fun to color! I added some Perfect Pearls to her dress and hat, so IRL, she shimmers! I remember being a witch for halloween several years in a row when I was little. I LOVED when my costumes had sparkle!!

(Sweet Elle,  Blossom Stackers, Dirty Halo)

Ok, so these sets are older ones, but I adore them! When my mom asked me if I could do a last minute baby card for a friend of hers, Sweet Elle was the 'go to' image. Super easy to color, and ADORABLE for either a boy or a girl! The frame around the sentiment is from Blossom Stackers (which, BTW, has a coordinating DIE set through Spellbinders called 'Blossom Tags and Accents'). And the pattern on the  bottom inside edge of the card comes from July's KOTM Dirty Halo.
