Too Cute to Spook with CCC

       Hello my fabulous friends,

and welcome to anyone who is new!

We have entered the haunting month of October, and what better way to jump into the Halloween spirit than with some TOO CUTE costumed critters from the talented Anita Jeram?

Note: Products were provided by the company, however my opinions remain my own. Affiliate links have been used. This doesn't affect the price you pay, but it does a lot to help me continue bringing you new content. Thank you so much for your support!

This new Anita Jeram collection from  Colorado Craft Company is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween on the cute side!

To celebrate this new release, Colorado Craft Company has some amazing give aways... more on that below-

But first, let's take a look at these fun new stamps!

First up, let's take a look at the adorable Happy Catoween..  Perfect for all you cat lovers! There are 4 little witch cats, plus some little odds and ends and 2 sentiments. These kitties make me smile, and I kinda wish my friend's cat would let me put a cute little hat on her. 😂

Tip: a few little stripes or polkadots with a gel pen can add a lot of character to these witches!

Of course there is a coordinating die set for these cute cats.

What about the dog lovers? Well, Wizard Treats may be the one for you... These cuties in costumes are about 3 inches tall, making them very fun to color! This set also comes with a bunch of leaves to help set the fall mood.

Tip: adding in a dark background makes the lantern really feel like it's glowing! Don't forget to have some of the glow on the robes too!

If you want to cut these guys out with ease, check out the coordinating die set.

Trick or Treating Cats is up next.. these kitties are about 3 inches tall as well.  The cat with the fish costume is holding out his arm, but it's up to you what you want him to be holding.... there is a lantern or a pumpkin pail included in the set, but feel free to be creative!

Tip: multicolored leaves are more interesting than single colors.... I used yellow, orange, and pink for these leaves... just adding drops of color and letting them mix together on their own,

You can find the coordinating dies for this set HERE.

Changing pace just a little, Pumpkin Patch is a great set for scene building! It has these cute lights, and 2 different pumpkin clusters. This set plays well with all the critter sets in this release (and older sets too)

Tip: Some watercolors are bullies and will push other colors out of the way when added wet on wet... This is how I got the glow in the lights. I painted the whole sky with a blue, then added Azo yellow into the lights while the blue was still wet... it pushed the blue away leaving glowing halos around each light!  Test your colors on a scrap paper before doing your background so you know if your colors push or mix.

There is a coordinating die set to make scene building easy!

Who are these ghosts? They must be some of the pups from The Bark Side! I love how simple yet adorable they are!  (notice the pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch!)

Tip: Ghosts don't really need much color, but white things still need shadows... and honestly colorful shadows are more interesting! I used blues and purples.

The dies for this set can be found HERE

This brings back memories of diving into the candy after getting back from trick or treating! This fun Halloween Party set has 3 sweet little critters, the party sign, and a Halloween banner. These critters are a bit smaller at only about 1.5 inches. tall, but that makes them great for scenes, and tags!

Tip: Just like the leaves, the ground is more interesting if there are multiple colors mixed wet in wet. Personally I like using granulating colors for the ground as it adds visual texture. I have 3 colors here- a brown, a green, and a purple. Yes, it's a bit of a "muddy mess", but it's the ground... it's ok for the ground to be muddy!

You can get a coordinating die set for this set as well.

Happy Haunting moves us into a larger stamp size... the scene is almost 6 inches long! I just used a part of the stamp here.  There are 2 moons and 4 stars so you can customize your sky. There are also several larger sentiment options.

Tip: When doing a night scene, you can unify your image by giving everything (or almost everything) a glaze of your dark sky color... Everything got a wash of dark blue  here except the lights. I added some dark hints of color in a few areas after the blue layer had dried, but mostly, I let it just be night.

And yes, there is a die set for this too!

Moving into our mini sets... Too Cute to Spook is simple and sweet!

Tip: Granulating watercolors that also color separate can add a lot of interest without you having to do anything! That kitty is just one color, but that color tends to separate into 2 colors when it's applied with a fair amount of water... I LOVE playing around with these kinds of paints! You do have to be willing to give up some control since you can't predict or force it... however, if you are able to loosen up and let the water do the work, you can get amazing results!

You can find the die set for this set HERE

My last card features 2 sets... the Halloween Friends mini has the adorable mouse and bat image with the sentiment, and Halloween Background was used both as a background for the little friends and to line the envelope.

Tip: Stamping a background stamp in light colored ink can add a lot of visual interest without pulling any focus from the main image. Also, adding a bright pop of color on your main image makes the card feel colorful even though nothing in the background is colored at all. Here I used Lost Shadow Distress Oxide for my background. It is a beautifully soft neutral color, perfect for this!

There  is a coordination die set for the Halloween Friends.
