Club LLLC and the Dancing Hippo...
Hello my fabulous friends!
I'm super excited to share two more projects I've made using the Club La-La Land Crafts April 2018 kit....
And there is a video for the card that has been making me giggle since I finished it..
You may have seen the sneak peak on Facebook...
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Basic Grey; Coordinations
Stamps: Club LLLC Hippos in Paradise
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade
Copics: Hippo-E77, E74, E71, E70, W00
Uke-E59, E57, E55, E53, Y26
Flowers- B60, B63, B66, B69, Y26
Skirt-YG61, YG67, YG25, G85, G28
Ground- W4, W2, W0
Dies: Club LLLC Hibiscus Border; LLLC Nested Frames Large
Other: Ranger Enamel Accents, Perfect Pearls; brads, rhinestones
I think this may be my favorite of the three hippos... but honestly it's a hard choice! I knew from the moment I first saw this stamp that I wanted to animate it!
I can't claim to have come up with this specific way of animating, and I'm not sure who actually came up with the idea first... mechanical cards have actually been around for a REALLY long time, and this is a fairly basic form of a mechanical card. That being said, I was inspired by the talented Jiwon and adapted it to the hippo...
It really is easy to do... I'll walk you through it in the video at the end of today's post.
I love flower dies.. but sometimes they feel a bit... flat... So after coloring these hibiscus up, I used an embossing stylus and a foam mat to add some dimension to the petals... and some rhinestones for a little extra bling...
And my second card...
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Georgia Pacific
Stamps: Club LLLC Tropical Marci
Ink: LDRS Creative Raven; VersaMark; Uniball Signo; Distress Ink Abandoned Coral
Copics: Skin- E33, E35, V17, R14, E04
Hair- B21, C4, C6, C8, C10, 110
Coconut- E59, E99, E23
Yellow- Y13, Y18, Y19, V22
White-C3, C0, 0
Coral- R20, R22, R14, R27, E19
Green- G03
Background- B00, B02
Dies: Club LLLC Hibiscus Border; LLLC Stitched Nested Circles
Other: Ranger Perfect Pearls
I wanted to do masking so it looks like layers of patterned paper, but it really isn't... There is the black layer, the colored panel, and then the Hibiscus Border on the top and bottom... All the layers inside the colored panel are just that.. colored!
For a little something extra, I stamped the Hibiscus on the coral layer in VersaMark Ink and dusted them with gold Perfect Pearls... They are subtle in some lights, and really shine in others!
