best birthday pup...
Hello my fabulous friends!
I don't know about you, but I do a LOT of coloring... Sometimes I color because I have to for work, sometimes it's for the enjoyment (therapy), but often, it's just to practice and learn...
Not everything I color actually ends up being made into something.... I have a box full of colored images with their color notes and product lists clipped to them with no idea if they will ever become anything more... And that's ok.
Then I have a pile of special images that I have colored, that I know I will turn into cards...
This was one of those images... I couldn't turn it into a card right away, but I knew I would when I was ready....

I absolutely adore this cute guy!!! I ordered the stamp a while ago, and it sat waiting for me to have a chance to ink it up between all the other projects that needed to get done... Then, a month ago, one of our dogs took a bad turn... she had a stroke, and a seizure... and we had to put her down.
My heart broke..
When I sat down at my desk that day, I remembered I had this stamp... I pulled it out, inked it up, and as I colored it, I remembering the good times with my dog, and it helped ease the pain a bit...
Art can be amazingly therapeutic!
I wanted to keep this card fairly simple, but I was having trouble finding any patterned paper that matched in my (ridiculously large) stash... So I found some gorgeous dark blue paper, and a polkadot stencil, and used some metallic gold acrylic paint to make my own custom paper.
I really need to start using my stencils more often!
See you soon!
