a puppy story and winter shaker...
Hello my fabulous friends!
The last minute holiday rush has started... I've been cooking, and wrapping, and making sure I have all my cards and gifts ready to go... and sometimes things get a bit crazy...
After spending multiple hours working on a secret Christmas project in the WEE morning hours, I thought I had things cleaned up.. However, a few hours later, after grabbing a little sleep, I was walking around in my kitchen and felt a sharp pain in my toe.. closer examination showed that I hadn't cleaned up as well as I though, and I still had some stray pieces of tiny wire sharp enough to stab into skin on my floor and counter... NOT GOOD! I grabbed my dog, and took her over to my parent's house so she would be safe and happy while I did a better job cleaning... When I came back to pick up my dog, I found her in my mom's arms, with stuff being pulled out of her hair... Apparently my tiny dog had been playing and hit a slick spot on the wood floor... She accidentally slid into the Christmas tree (which isn't the most steady of trees) and brought the tree down on top of her... a couple ornaments broke (hence the grooming session), and the trees I spent so long decorating are kinda a mess... Oh well... No one got hurt, my puppy is fine, the tree can be fixed, and the ornaments replaced, so I guess all is well... but man, I could use a stress-free holiday please! LOL!
Anyway, just a quick card today in between work and running around...
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; LDRS Creative Country Christmas; DCWV Glitzy Glitter
Stamps: LDRS Creative Country Christmas kit, Country Christmas
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Evergreen Bough; Uniball Signo White
Coloring: Copic
BG49, BG23, RV06
Dies: LDRS Creative Happy Days
Other: Ranger Stickles; various sequins
These fun layering background stamps allows you to create fun winter patterns in any color combination you want! I love how the Distress Inks layer to create a third color!
I think these deer silhouettes are adorable! I wanted to give them a fun sparkling snow bank to stand on, and when you shake the card, it starts snowing!
I kept the coloring SUPER simple with only 2 colors for the leaves and one color for the berries. Some white gel pen dots and clear Stickles are fun touches to add pop to even the simplest coloring!
I don't usually decorate the inside of my cards because I want to leave plenty of room to write my message, but this sentiment was too cute not to include, and the front was too busy for it to really shine... so inside it goes!
I hope you are having a safe and wonderful week!
See you soon!
