whimsical holiday fairy...
Hello my fabulous friends!
Life is CRAZY busy right now!
Between working on new release samples, getting ready for Creativation, Christmas traditions, and all the other day-to-day things that are going on, I often feel overwhelmed and like my head is spinning...
Finally I told myself I needed to take a day off... Catch my breath, get some sleep, and allow myself to find my footing again.
It's amazing what a little step back can do! By the end of the day I was feeling much more relaxed and happy, and I was excited to jump back into things! In fact, I didn't end up taking the whole day off... By evening, I was wanting to color... so I did a 'just for fun' project.

This adorable fairy isn't really a holiday stamp, but she actually works really well for any season, depending on how you color her!
I was having fun playing with my red combo today... It's fun to see what layering different colors will do to add richness and depth! I've got some BG96 in the darkest shadows of the red, and some V01 in the lighter areas.... You can't see the BG or the V, but adding in layers of those colors can really change the overall tone and contrast of the red. So much fun!
For the wings I chose a super light pink and green to match the green and red in her outfit. I also added in some shimmery silver lines using a Gelly Roll Clear Star pen. I love this pen for detailed shimmer!
I kept my layering simple with several thin layers. The red and the green layers were both colored with Copics so they would match the image (you only need to do a swipe or two around each of the edges using the chisel tip to make it look like the layer is a solid color.) I also added in some glitter paper for some extra texture and sparkle.
What would you do with a day off? Would you still craft, or would you do something else?
Whatever you do, just remember to take the time to take care of yourself when you need it! You are worth taking care of!
See you soon!
