cute Whimsy love...

Hello my fabulous friends!

When I was a kid, we made Valentine boxes for school each year... They were just shoe boxes covered in pink and red paper, doilies, and glitter, but I always had fun making them! We would then take them to school and classmates could put Valentines cards and treats in your box....

This sweet Freckles image from Whimsy reminds me of theValentines day when I was young... When the day was more about glitter and candy hearts than romance and expensive gifts... And I absolutely love that!

Isn't this little girl just the cutest?!? From her adorable pigtails and dress to her sweet smile... She is precious!

I kept my color palette simple for this, just like my childhood Valentines boxes... staying with red and pink, then I added in some gold accents on the hearts.

I wanted to create a background behind this sweetie, but I didn't want it to pull focus, so I went for a white on white look using an embossing folder to give some texture. Some gold foil tape helps creates a beautiful border between the smooth and textured card stock pieces, and ties back in to the gold hearts on to image.

I attached the girl using foam tape to help her stand out even more from the background, then finished it off with some gold jewels.

Do you have any childhood memories or traditions for Valentines? Let me know in the comments!

See you soon!
