birthday dahlias...

Hello my fabulous friends!

I'm back with a new Spellbinders die from the September release...   This gorgeous 3D flower is called Cactus Dahlia and Ornamental Garden Pottery (long name, I know, but it is a good description of what you get!) This set comes with all the dies for making beautiful Cactus Dahlias, as well as a pot to create bouquets in!

This is such a pretty flower! And it's really easy to make too! You can find a how-to video right on Spellbinder's product page for this die, so you can always reference back to it!

I wanted to use a fun bright color with a subtle pattern for this flower, so I chose a slightly patterned paper, then added more color and patterns with a stamp, a stencil, and my Copic air brush.... 

You don't have to go that crazy... It would look beautiful with a solid color too... I just was in the mood to get messy. LOL!

This set comes with a beautiful pot to put your flowers in, but I decided to use it instead to accent a foiled frame. I like the simplicity of the design with the subtle complexity of the patterns and colors in the flower!
