Butterflies and flowers with Spellbinders...

 Hello my fabulous friends!

My studio has been filled with butterflies and flowers from Spellbinders newest release! Perfect for spring creating!

Let's take a closer look!

Please note, while Spellbinders did send me product and asked  me to create with them, my opinions remain my own.

Ink: Ink on 3 Fadeout
Color: watercolors

This stamp arrived in my studio with perfect timing- The second package that arrived that day was a new set of watercolors I've been wanting to try for ages and I finally splurged and ordered it as an early birthday present for myself!

If you've seen my work on Instagram, you probably know I love no line watercolors... especially flowers! This new Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes didn't disappoint! The flowers are small and simple making coloring a breeze, and the end result is absolutely beautiful!

3D Embossing folder: Spellbinders Beautiful Butterflies
Hot Foil Plate: Spellbinders Stylish Oval Thanks
Foil: Spellbinders Satin Champagne, Rose Gold
Dies: Spellbinders Stylish Oval Thanks
Color: watercolors, spray inks

As much as I love spending hours painting a card, sometimes I don't have that kind of time, and I need something quick... This new Stylish Oval Thanks is perfect for stunning cards that don't take hours to make! To make my life even easier, I foiled some extra card fronts while I had my Glimmer machine and foils out. I keep the extra foiled pieces filed on a self in my studio so when I need something quick I can I have some foiled pieces ready to go.

This was my first time using a Spellbinders 3D embossing folder, and it was a bit of an eye opener..
I only have a few 3D embossing folders from 2 other brands, and I've always been able to easily figure out a sandwich for my old machine and those folders, however, with the Spellbinders folder I couldn't get anything to work! It was either too thick or too thin. I finally cut up a piece of an old sign and was able to get it to work.
I know understand all the excitement when the Universal Platform came out a while ago... I've already added one to my shopping cart so I won't have this problem again!

Foil: Spellbinders Satin Lavender, Satin Pewter

I love the look of foil... and I've been having a lot of fun layering foils lately. The Satin Lavender and Satin Pewter look so amazing together! I started with the Modern Lines in Satin Lavender and added some splatters from Splatter Sentiments on top in Satin Pewter. While it looked lovely, it needed more dimension, and this is where the Fluttering By butterflies saved the day. The foil plate foils a bunch of butterflies that can be used as a background or border. The set also comes with some dies so you can die cut the foiled butterflies too.  So I foiled the butterflies in the Satin Pewter, die cut them, then folded the wings slightly. I added glue just to the bodies and let the wings flutter.

The sentiment comes from Stylish Oval Thanks. I love the dot details the die adds!

See you soon!
