coral wreath...

Hello my fabulous friends!

Have you ever had an idea for a card rattling around in your brain for a while before you decide to tackle it? I had this one sitting on the back burner for a while... My original plan was a very complicated one that left me feeling too overwhelmed to tackle... than I realized that if I simplify, not only will it make it more approachable, but it might actually look better...

Let's take a look at how it ended up coming together...

Paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Stamps: InkOn3 Heels to You, Hollyhocks
Ink: InkOn3 Fadeout, Liquid Pixie Dust; Uniball Signo White; Memento Rich Cocoa
Coloring: Zig Clean Color Real Brush; Arteza Real Brush: PrismaColor pencil
Flower- A175, A124, 230, A151, 028, A148
Center- A178, 061, 065, 096
Green- 043, 046
Wreath- Dark Brown colored pencil

Step 1: Stamp a bunch of leaves and a flower cluster  from the Heels to You stamp set using Fadeout ink, then color it all in using your favorite coloring medium.
(make sure you are stamping on the right kind of paper for the medium you want to color with!)

Step 2: Cut them all out.

Step 3: On a separate piece of cardstock, draw a big scribbly circle.. It doesn't need to be perfect, in fact, imperfect looks best! Just go around a few times and get the general shape of a twiggy wreath.

Step 4: Figure out where you want your leaves on your wreath... play around with the arrangement until you like it, then glue them down.

Step 5: Adhere your flower cluster using foam tape to give it some dimension.

Step 6: This is what happens when you don't plan out your entire project in advance... you make adjustments on the fly...LOL!  I decided I wanted a square card, so I trimmed my  cardstock down a bit... Adhere your panel (whichever dimension you decide on) to a card base.

Step 7: Scribble some water soluble ink onto a non-porous surface, and add a drop of Liquid Pixie Dust, as well as a spritz of water. Mix with a brush, then flick onto your card front.

Step 8: Stamp a sentiment.. this one comes from the Hollyhocks set.

Step 9: finishing touches... I use a corner rounder to round off the lower left and upper right corners. It gives the card a really fun shape that I think works well with this asymmetrical wreath.

I'm glad I simplified it! It ended up working out far better with a simpler approach!

Do you ever make things more complicated than they need to be? Please tell me I'm not the only one! LOL!

Have a wonderful day!

See you soon!
