sweet celebration...

Hello my fabulous friends!

This little turtle went to a party...
Who wouldn't want this cutie showing up with cupcakes?!?

Actually... I could use a visit from the cupcake turtle now... LOL!

Gouache- Chinese White

This guy is stamped on Bristol Smooth paper using Fadeout ink, then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. One of the FAQs I get on Instagram is about paper... I pretty much only use Bristol Smooth when working with watercolor pens... I just have better results using Bristol Smooth than any other paper.

The cupcake and the turtle are two separate stamps. I stamped the cupcake first, then masked off the bottom portion of the cupcake, then stamped the turtle. Because I went with no line coloring, I didn't have to be too perfect with my masking... however, when the lines are already light, you don't want to confuse yourself with extra lines...

I've found that I sometimes I just don't like dark black sentiments on a card where I've used no line coloring... When there's no black in the image,  the black ink in the sentiments can feel harsh... So I'm currently loving Altenew's Moon Rock ink in situations like that... it's dark enough to read easily, but gray enough that it feels like it belongs with the no line watercolor.

Well, I don't know about you, but now I want cupcakes.. and since I don't think a turtle is coming to my house to deliver one, I guess I'll need to make some!

See you soon!
