vintage thanks...

A while ago I was playing around with this large flower stamp.  It ended up being added to my stack of "ideas and starts of projects".  I dug it out and finally did something with it. About time, huh.

The flower was heat embossed on watercolor paper. I love using watercolor paper when I'm planning on painting in my image no matter if I'm using watercolors, watercolor crayons, or Distress Inks.  It doesn't curl, and it gives you the wet time needed to blend colors well.

To give the card a more vintage feel, I distressed and inked the edges of some of the papers.  For an added little touch, I added machine stitching... My mom bought me a lovely sewing machine, and I don't use it near enough!  I've got to work on that. =)

The string on the card is another faux bakers twine, but I used distress inks instead of CI paint to add color.

Enjoy!
