Summer Dress Molly has such a fun dress to color! The large open area leaves lots of room for playing with patterns! I decided to go with a red floral on a white background in honor of my all time favorite summer dress...

I thought of a lot of different ideas for how to interpret "boardwalk" when I was working on this card... I finally went with my favorite kind... the kind that is made of wooden planks, that lets you walk over the water...

To create my boardwalk, I used a basic one point perspective vanishing point, and drew lines. I did a base coat in my lightest color (E55), traced my lines and added a bit of shadow on the back edge with my darkest color (E59), added woodgrain scribbles with my medium color (E57), and went over the whole thing with my lightest (E55) to blend.  Pretty simple, but adds a lot!

Tip: When doing something like this, use a vanishing point to draw your planks.. I was being lazy and didn't at first... She looked like she was floating on a fence.... The vanishing point makes all the difference!

The water was created using Various inks on Yupo, I then added some white Sea Bubble Boarders to the tops of each layer.

My banner is colored with the same colors as the dress, then heat embossed in white to make the sentiment pop! The hearts are left over from the hidden tag...

This dolphin hides a surprise...

The tag is Yupo paper with the same alcohol ink background as the water. Because of the slick surface, I stamped my sentiment using LDRS Creative Hybrid ink... This ink works great on non-porous surfaces as long as you heat set it!

I stamped and colored the dolphin on Neenah, then fussy cut it and glued it to the top of the tag, and tucked it into the waves!

I'm kinda wishing I was sitting on that boardwalk watching dolphins right not... how about you?

See you soon!
