Creativation 2019

Hello my fabulous friends!

I went to Creativation 2019!!!

I wanted to share my adventure real time, but I ended up just being too busy... So here's the rundown and some picts of the LDRS Creative booth (where I was working)!

This was my first time going, and I was nervous!  I have severe anxiety that makes it very hard for me to do things like this... I was very blessed that my sister was willing to travel with me to help me deal with the stress, help prevent panic attacks, and make sure I ate and drank enough...
 Love you sis!

This was my very first time on a plane... So I was extra nervous. However the airline was SO nice. They let me preboard with my sister so I was guaranteed a seat next to each other. Once we were seated, one of the flight attendants started talking to us... She was SO super sweet, and when she found out I have anxiety and it was my first time flying, she was very reassuring, and made sure I had a seat I was comfortable in...

While we were talking to the flight attendant, a man in the row ahead of us over heard our conversation.... Turned out he was a pilot, and he asked if I would like him to sit next to us in case I got nervous or had question. It was SO nice of him. His calm presence was very reassuring to me! I can't thank him enough for being willing to help a complete stranger in need!

As soon as my sister and I got checked into our room, we met up with the group (we were the last ones to arrive) to help set up the booth... When we had to leave the center, we all headed to Angie's hotel room for pizza and a marker party..
Crafters Companion was very generous and donated all of the markers we used in our workshop and make-n-takes, but all of the 1,600+ markers were individually shrink wrapped and had to be opened, so we talked and laughed, ate and opened.

And I managed to cut my hand with the box opener I was using... not deep, but probably proof I shouldn't be using a sharp knife when I'm tired....

The next day we were up early to prep for our first workshop...
We hit a slight snag when our box of black ink pads wasn't anywhere to be found.... I ended up running back to the booth to search there.. On my way, I demonstrated my incredible "grace" by tripping on my own shoes and falling..  I spent part of Stephanie's workshop with ice on my wrist... Her workshop on interactive cards was amazing! She has so much energy, and is so dynamic!

My workshop on masking florals was at the end of the day, and I was nervous... I guess it went well, but it was a bit discouraging when most of the class walked out before it was over... I know it was the end of the second day of classes, and everyone just wanted to get dinner, but still....
I honestly hope that those who came enjoyed it.

We went to dinner as a group that night, and had lots of laughs! I really like Angie, Stephanie, Jeannie, Kathy, and Arnie (and my sister, of course)! They are WONDERFUL people! They all looked out for me and helped me the whole time!

And I got my first look at Tim Holtz (he was eating at the same place). It was honestly a little surreal to start seeing people I follow on social media in real life!

And yes, I was the one who ended up rubbing my eye after eating hot wings... My eye was burning for quite a while after that! I tell you, I'm a walking mess sometimes! LOL!  At least we all got a good chuckle out of it!

The next day was the start of the show... Our booth looked AMAZING! Kathy is seriously talented!

As you have been looking through these photos of the booth, have you been ables to spot any new products???

It's hard to pick favorites, but I have to say, I'm really LOVING the new On the Move line with the interactive stamps and dies! The new Polkadoodles girls are FABULOUS too! The gorgeous flowers you see in this picture are SO beautiful to color! And the sweet shop stamps... OH BOY! Those ice cream cones and candy are YUMMY!!!

New product will be available at the end of February, so be on the look out for that!

It was amazing to see all the cards the DT made! They are pretty on the blog posts, but are stunning in real life!  I'm feel so privileged to work with such talented people!

Last minute details before the show opens...

Make-n-take table ready to go... this is where I spent my time. We had 2 make-n-takes each day, and each day they were different, so we had some ladies come back for all 6!  We had lots of fun playing with the new stamps, dies, and papers!

Once the show started, I was too busy to take photos... I was in the LDRS booth most of the time, but I did wander through various booths on my lunch break... I got to meet some of the La-La Land Crafts' team, and I also got to meet the owners of Motion Crafts (you should be seeing me using their new stuff in March!). I talked to Emily Mydlowski from Trinity Stamps, and she was super sweet! I also talked to the fabulously fun Keri Sallee who was demoing Gel Press, and I learned a lot from her! And Fleurette Bloom was so sweet, she came to me to demo her Ink on 3 Fade Out ink when she heard I hadn't seen it yet... She even gave me an ink pad to get me started!!! I can't wait to do some no-line coloring!!! I also discovered the SWEET images of Dreamerland Crafts! And so many others!!! I wish I had had more time to meet people... there are so many amazing people I would love to get to know!

I learned fun new techniques for products I love, got some samples to start playing with, and found new products I can't wait to get my hands on! I wish I had taken pictures, but I was trying to cram as much sightseeing in during my break as possible, and honestly, pulling out my phone for photo shoots was not the first thing on my mind.  (I need to get better at thinking of that...)

The flight home was gorgeous!
I even got to see the Grand Canyon for the first time.

The day after I got home was spent snuggling my sweet puppy, chilling in comfy sweats with no shoes on, and trying to catch my breath...

This trip was crazy stressful, but also AMAZING! I work with some of the most fantastic people!!! And I met so many wonderful people!

I'm excited to start creating with the new products I have so I can share with you.... I tried to get started yesterday, but my wrist is still having problems.... I'm right handed, and it's my right hand that got injured in that graceful fall, and coloring for very long is hard.... I promise I'm trying to get projects done to share ASAP!!!

See you soon!

  1. I attended a workshop once where the speaker wasn’t that great and people started walking out. I wanted to as well but I thought that could
be me up there and stayed. At the en, he gave out good door prizes and many winners were gone-thanks to them, I came home with something good.
