thinking of you magnolias..
Hello my fabulous friends!
Thank you for joining us on the Inkon3 blog hop featuring the newest stamp set, Big Bold Magnolias.
One of magnolias might look familiar since it's featured in our Heels to You set, but it's been so popular, we decided to dedicate an entire stamp set to it!
We are giving away a $25 Inkon3 gift card to one lucky hopper! To enter leave a comment on each blog in the hop, plus follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Winners will be announced a week from today, Thursday, September 5, 2019 over on the main Inkon3 blog.

I started by stamping out my flowers and leaves on some Bristol Smooth paper using Fadeout ink. The magnolias from the Big Bold Magnolia set, are designed go perfectly with the older Heels To You set.. The Heels to You flowers are a bit smaller, which means if you buy both sets, you don't have duplicate, instead you have more sizes!
I started with the Big Bold Magnolias on the bottom, and ended on the small bud from Heels To You.
I then colored everything in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
After coloring, I placed a sheet of contact paper over the image and traced it. After tracing everything, I removed the contact paper, placed it back on the backing sheet, then cut it out. This creates a custom waterproof mask.
I placed the contact paper mask back over the flowers, then taped a stencil down over my project. Using a blending brush and some Distress Ink, I was able to add in some stenciled greenery behind my flowers without messing them up.
(Yes, regular masking would have worked for the stenciling.. however, I wasn't sure if I was going to add in other ink splatters or not, so I wanted a waterproof mask)
I love how it looks when you remove the mask! The swirls helped balance the flowers and give the whole card more movement.
*Note: after removing the mask, I could tell the flower needed more contrast to help it pop... so I added in a touch of purple in the shadows. (in case you were wondering why it suddenly changed LOL)
I finished it off with an elegant sentiment, and some gold foiled paper.
I've love the original Heels to You flower, and I'm so excited for even more of these flowers to color with this new set!!!!
