Now, let's get on to the part that you came here for... Let's see what this new stuff can do!

Paper: Yupo; Craft Smith Soho Boutique; DCWV Holiday Glitz
Stamps: LDRS Creative Shore Lucky, Lemonade
Ink: LDRS Creative Raven, Bali Blue; Uniball Signo White
Coloring: Copics
Water- BG23, B05
Dolphin- W0, W2, W4, W6, W8
Sky- Y32, Y35
Sign- E40, E43, E44
Other: My Favorite Things Spin and Slide discs; Heidi Swapp foil; twine

I LOVE going to the ocean! It one of my happy places... Not the crazy, crowded beaches though... I like the quiet spots where hardly anyone else is... Where you can just listen to the waves and the birds...

So I was super excited for the new Shore Lucky stamp set!

Ready to teach a dolphin to swim?

Start by creating a water background on Yupo paper with alcohol inks. After the ink was ALMOST dry you can press some heat transfer foil onto the tacky spots. This gives some great shimmer in random patterns, great for water!

Cut 2 strips using the Surfing Wave die.
On one of those strips, use the Sandy Surf die to cut just under the wave edge. This will create the slider track.  I kept the left over piece to layer behind the slider track so it blends in.

Create a sky using your favorite background technique..

I used my Copic Airbrush and a torn paper towel to create a cloudy sky. I decided to go with more of a sunrise look with a warm yellow sky.

Adhere your extra strip of water where you want the slider to be.
Adhere your first wave onto your card using foam... Don't put the foam all the way to the edge, you need some space for your slider under the smooth edge of the wave.

Stamp, color, and fussy cut your dolphin.
Cut a small circle (slightly larger than how wide your track will be, but smaller than the dolphin). Glue a slider disc to the center.

Adhere the bottom part of your wave to the card using foam (again, leave some empty space under the track edge.)
Glue your dolphin to the slider disc, and slide it into the track. Make sure your dolphin slides easily and doesn't fall out of the track

Die cut some designer cardstock using the medium oval from the Woodland Foliage Frames die set.
Adhere to your card using foam. Be sure to stick some foam strips in the ends of your track (where they will be hidden by the frame). This will keep your dolphin from falling off the edge.

To create the sign, Stamp the bottom part of the lemonade stand from the new Lemonade stamp set. "sea you there" fits PERFECTLY! Stamp some pendent flags underneath. Color and fussy cut it out.

Punch a small hole on each side and tie on some twine.
Adhere to card using foam.

Finish it off by die cutting a sun from Sun and Clouds die set out of glitter paper and tucking it behind the waves.

If interactive cards aren't your thing... here's a super quick and easy card...

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; DCWV Holiday Glitz; LDRS Creative You are my Sunshine
Stamps: LDRS Creative New Beginning
Ink: LDRS Creative Raven
Color: Copics
Yellow- Y11, Y15, Y19, V22
Green- YG03, YG17, YG99
Dies: LDRS Creative Sunburst Rectangle, Scalloped Rectangle, Surfing Waves and Sandy Beach

The new You Are My Sunshine paper pack is an AWESOME summer collection! All the papers coordinate perfectly, and they are a really nice heavy weight cardstock! I LOVE that!

This cluster of tulips are the tulips that are in the girl's hair in the new New Beginning stamp set! No one ever said you had to use the entire stamp! Breaking it down into smaller components by fussy cutting you image can really help you get more out of your stamps!

The simplest way to create a textured, interesting background is to die cut it! The new Sunburst Rectangle will die cut your whole background panel! I then layered some glitter paper behind it for some pop! I used one of the hearts from the new Scalloped Rectangle die set to embellish the center circle! Super quick and easy but looks fabulous!
