Isn't this image stunning?!? I love the long loose curls blowing in the breeze!
It has been a while since I colored a darker skin tone, so I decided this was the perfect time to switch things up a bit.... Yes, I do have my 'go-to' skin combos for various skin tones, but sometimes I get stuck in a rut of the same tone over and over... It's fun to personalize the cards a bit more and break out of the ruts!
I used to be intimidated by any image that involved a flame... However, the more I do it, the more I LOVE adding the glow in... It's really not as hard as you may think.... For this one, I colored the pants and the candle normally, then took a light yellow and added just a light stroke or two over top of the already colored objects. You don't need to blend it (in fact, trying to blend it would cause problems!), you just need a light glaze over the top! The glow really adds a lot to an image with flames!
For my sentiment, I cut out some tiny letters and colored them with my Copics... I then added some Liquid Pixie Dust for sparkle, then covered them in Nuvo Drops for some glossy dimension. Nice and simple, yet effective!
Be sure to stop by the Whimsy store to check out all the new images!
See you soon!
