rock-a-bye...

Hello my fabulous friends!

I have a couple of very important baby cards to make this year... and this one needed to be made extra early to make sure my mom had a chance to write in it before her surgery...

Dies: LDRS Creative Waves and Clouds; Crafter Companion Opulent Swirls
Other: rhinestones

If you've been around my blog, or instagram, you'll know that I love Tracey Hey stamps... But really, can you blame me??? They are super sweet stamps!

This design features 3 different stamp sets... I love how well they work together! I knew I wanted to do dad wreath, and I knew the nursery colors are pink and gray, so this adorable elephant from Rocking the Wreath was PERFECT! The bird comes from It Moose be Love, and the sentiment is from Tiny Person

While I started out with a very clear image of what I wanted with the stamped part of the card, I really didn't know at first what I would be doing for the rest of the card (honestly that is a fairly normal state of affairs.. LOL!) So it took a little playing around...

I started by finding paper to match my coloring.  I know that some people like to choose their paper first, but I rarely do, and even when I do, I often change my mind about the paper after I've colored my image... I guess that's all just part of my process.

Once I had my paper chosen, I started playing around with various dies.... Once I had picked out my dies, it was just a  matter of finishing touches with the rhinestones. (and just in case you are wondering, yes those are really tiny rhinestones... I like to use nail art rhinestones more than the traditional card making rhinestones... I love how tiny they are... and they feel less bulky in designs.)

I love how all these different companies products can all be mixed and matched together!

See you soon!
