turquoise and black alcohol inks...

Hello my fabulous friends!

Today's inspiration for La-La Land Crafts is Turquoise and Black..

I really like that color combination, but I wasn't quite sure where to go with it..

So I let myself play with ink...

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; DCWV Metallics; Yupo
Stamps: La-La Land Crafts Best Mates
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; LDRS Creative Raven; Copic Various  BG49, BG15, 110, 0
Coloring: Copics
Bear- W2, W4, W6, W8, W10, R20, E04
Red- R05, E07, E19, E29
White- N0, N2, N4
Turquoise- BG49, B01

I haven't done an alcohol ink background in a while, so I got out some Copic Various ink, my Copic Airbrush, and some Yupo paper..

I've never put black ink into my alcohol ink backgrounds... I've always been afraid that it was too strong of a color, and would completely take over...  But it actually ended up looking really fun! I'll have to play around some more with other colors and the black sometime!

After the background had dried, I dotted in some bubbles using a few different Various inks and a ball stylus. I love the way that adding a drop of wet alcohol in onto the dry alcohol ink creates these little bubbles of color with a  dark ring around them! It's lots of fun to play with!

Next I decided that I needed to add in a neutral metallic to give it a bit of pop...

I chose a gold metallic cardstock and used the inlay technique to incorporate the Sea Bubbles Border into my card.

I then did did an inlay with the Star Wreath so the wreath was in gold, but the area where my image would be was Neenah so I could color it.

Isn't this little guy adorable?! He fit perfectly in the wreath!

And the sentiment to finish it off.. Now all it needs is a note on the inside, and it is ready to be sent to one of my life saving friends!

So what do you think?  Are you ready to try adding a drop of black into your alcohol ink backgrounds?

See you soon!
