coloring outside the lines...

Hello my wonderful peeps!

I wanted to get a quick card done just for the Unity's Friends with Flare Friday---

feel free to be shocked.

I am feeling pretty proud of myself that I squeezed this in today too. :)

(usually I just share something I've finished earlier in the week)

Super simple card... however, when the sunlight hits it (which unfortunately is currently hiding behind a whole bunch of clouds...) it is packed full of shine!

Here's how to do this easy technique...

Lay a stencil over your card... a simple shape works best, ink the area with a clear embossing ink.

Take off your stencil and cover your inked area with Perfect Pearls.
Yay! A perfect shiny shape!

Ink up your stamp with clear embossing ink, and stamp.  (you will want to use a stamp that is either slightly larger than your shape, or stamp it so that part of the image goes outside your shape.)

*you may notice that blue paper with the upside down writing... that is because I didn't want the stems of the flowers to extend beyond the shape, so I masked it off with a scrap of paper, being sure not to mask off any of the original shape.

When you lift up your stamp, you will see that inside your shaped area, the inked stamp lifted the Perfect Pearls, leaving a ghosted image, and outside your shape, it left ink on the paper. Carefully apply Perfect Pearls to the part of the image that extends OUTSIDE of your shape, being sure to leave the inside white.

Lightly mist your finished piece with water to set the Perfect Pearls, and you are done!

Here's a close up of the one on my card. Pretty cool, huh!  Just wait until you see it in person and the light hits it! BEAUTIFUL!

Enjoy!
~Kassi
