shine bright...

Hello my fabulous friends!

I grew up  in the city... about 8 years ago, I moved far from the city, and I was AMAZED by the beautiful starry skies that appeared each night!

My house is surrounded by trees, so sometimes when you walk past, you can see the stars twinkling through the branches of the trees.. It looks so pretty! I wanted to capture some of that magic with my La-La Land Crafts card today..

Paper: Georgia Pacific white cardstock, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; DCWV Metallics, Glitzy Glitter
Stamps: LLLC Jolly Elves, Shine Bright
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Uniball Signo; Gellyroll Clear Star; Distress Ink Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot
Coloring: Copics
Skin- E0000, E30, BV000, R11
Clothes: C00, C2, C4, C6
Other: Ranger Stickles, Perfect Pearls; string

I wanted to give this elf a different look than the traditional Christmas elf.. So I wondered what and elf would wear if he spent his nights hanging stars in the trees... I decided white and silver to match his stars!

To create the background, I covered a cardstock panel with various blue Distress inks. I then misted the Shine Bright background stamp with some water mixed with Perfect Pearls. I pressed the inked cardstock on the damp stamp... You end up with subtle ghost images with some shimmer... So pretty!

I decide to keep the branches white for a more elegant look.. I added just a touch of shadow on the undersides, but that's it!

For the stars, I had some silvery string with sequins on it... I wrapped the string around the branches and glued it to the back of the stars.

After stamping the sentiment in black, I felt it looked too harsh... so I traced the letters with some silver Stickles. Now they are bright and sparkly! Perfect fit for the sentiment!

I'm in the mood for a little star gazing now.. how about you?

 See you soon!
